Autism is a very
complex developmental disorder. It is a chronic condition for which there is currently no known medical
cure. However, there are many biomedical abnormalities that have been identified, and most can be treated
to some degree. This is now an area of rapidly changing ideas and approaches, driven by emerging
scientific research and results.
Autism
Nutrition aims to help individuals, families, and health professionals, dealing with autism, to understand, identify, and
develop treatments, that can substantially help children and adults with autism. Using individual programs
of biomedical and medical testing, dietary interventions, and targeted nutritional supplements, many children will improve
to some degree, and some will improve dramatically. Improvements are commonly reported in, but not
limited to, expressive and receptive language, play skills, sociability, eye contact, tantrums, hyperactivity, cognitive/thinking,
sleep, and gastrointestinal and immune function.
In addition to individualised treatment programs, Autism Nutrition provides health education and health promotion, about
autistic spectrum disorders, through articles, talks, workshops, seminars, and multimedia presentations.
Autism Nutrition Update! is the first annual Autism Nutrition seminar, to bring you reports and updates from the Autistic Research Institute’s
Defeat Autism Now! Conference 2011, in Atlanta Georgia USA.
If you know somebody with autism, come along to our 1 day seminar, and learn more about how you can
help them.
